Reception fit-out and Bespoke Corian Reception Desks
Image is very important in business and one of the most important areas of an office, hotel or commercial building is the reception area.
We love collaborating with other designers and architects and are happy to work with them directly or through a contractor. However if you don't have a design then we would be more than happy to come up with something truly unique for you.
Solid Surface materials like Corian and LG HIMACS are great products to make a desk from as they are very hard wearing in a commercial environment, these can be mixed with other materials like hardwoods, metals or resins.
A number of our desk projects have required structural elements to support them and for this we work with a steel fabricator who can design and manufacture supports that will hold any desk off the ground!
Lighting is key for design and when integrated into the design of a desk it can add a real depth and warmth. We integrate all lighting into our desks in house and work with a few select suppliers of premium LED commercial lighting. Translucent solid surface sheets work great with back lighting logos.
With technology changing at an ever increasing rate we always try to keep up and see what technologies are going to stay, one such item is wireless charging and its integration into more and more smart phones, with this in mind we offer the integration of wireless charging into all of our designs. We also design full cable routes throughout all desks making the installation of data and power services easy.
Disabled access (DDA) should always be built into a reception desk to allow wheelchair users the same level of service as everyone else. Integrating knee spaces for wheelchair users can actually take a desk design to a new level; take a look at this reception desk where we created a 2 metre unsupported flyover for wheelchair access.
Logos and corporate images can be integrated into any design, and with the large selection of colours that are available from our suppliers we can always find good matches to your corporate colours. We can work around your business operating hours when it comes to removing your existing reception desk and installing the new one, giving you a minimal amount of disruption. If it’s for a new office installation we are more than happy to work with your main contractor and organise installation via them.

A simple yet stylish desk for international aircraft sales company. Manufactured from Avonite Calcatta Stone lit with a warm white halo LEDs

Black valchromat, naturally finished with oil to bring out the colour of the material, was used on the internal surfaces of both pieces. The outer faces were finished in a solid white high gloss lacquer. To create the reception desk, over fifteen individual panels of Valchromat had to be mitred and joined together seamlessly.
