San Carlos 3D Thermoformed Display

This scene above shows the newly opened San Carlo Flying Pizza in Leeds, to the right hand side of the image you can see a fresh fish display, the bowl that contains the fish and ice is made from LG HI-MACS. We were commissioned to fabricate the bowl; to make it we used 12mm Alpine White HIMACS which had to be made up from 3 sections of solid surface sheet. By creating a 3D model using CAD software we were then able to machine former from MDF. Pre-heated Hi-Macs sheets were then set over the MDF formers and pressed into shape, once cooled they were machined and joined to each other to create the overall shape. A 200mm high glass rim was added the the perimeter of the bowl to prevent any ice or fish falling out.
